You are mixing the terms there Dottles, footy is NRL and field ballet or aerial Ping-Pong is AFL. There is a term for the round ball game where only the goal keeper is allowed to touch it and players drop like stunned mullet if an opposition player comes close to them ..... but I'd get a letter if I put that one up here  The other round ball game is known as cricket, but adding bits of sticky on one side seems to have a serious effect on the players future .... yet NRL and AFL players spray sticky on their hands quite often throughout the game so some of that must end up on the ball. There is another football game played by Americans that has a separate team for attack and defence ....... and rules that seem to be made up as they go along with a whole world of strange jargon the commentators use, but then AFL is a bit like that eh

Always been keen on Port, even white Port  Crows have been known to scream out rude words at rather inappropriate times but they are still quite impressive to watch in full flight.
As far as Footy teams, Dragons because of the link with the Steelers, Parramatta and Balmain Tigers because they are always the under dogs .... and naturally the Blues in State of Origin. Still can't get my head around Field Ballet, no proper contest for ball possession, the ball bounce when running seems to be an unpoliced random event, passing the ball doesn't happen and there is no penalty for dropping it, yet there are enough player out there for each side to play two separate games of NRL and still have a few refs to spare.
In reality, if any of the AFL players were to try real football (NRL) they'd need a fleet of ambulances and stretcher bearers just for the training games.
I guess if I had to pick a field ballet team it would be either the Swans or Port Adelaide, mostly because it upsets Wendy because she is a rusted on Crows supporter

That's not real football, they rarely kick the ball. It's just a bunch of drunken drug addicted thugs, bashing each other. Real football is soccer, with AFL next, then rugby, NRL and gridiron a distance last.

You don't watch much NRL by the sound of that NP. They have to kick the ball after a max of 5 tackles but often kick it a lot earlier. The level of skill and speed of the game these days doesn't leave any room for anything but athletes in prime condition. They don't all stand back because someone caught the ball, they are not allowed to tackle them before their feet touch the ground but once that has happened they need to be either very fast on their feet or quick to pass the ball or brace themselves for what comes next.
As far as Soccer being real football, method acting comes to mind every time I see a player collapse from the slightest tap. It might be a game predominantly played by kicking the ball, but real football has a lot more skill levels involved than just kicking a ball.

Soccer is by far the one that needs the most skill to play.
