Milawa Caravan Park

Post by Marty »

Recently stayed at the Milawa CP which is about 15km east of Wangaratta, we were there to ride some of the rail trails but found plenty of other things to do. Both the cheese factory and Brown Bros winery are very close along with the Honey and Mead place. Eldorado is also an easy drive away, the dredge is worth a visit, we also had a beer in the smallest pub in Victoria there along with a great hamburger. The amenities at Milawa were spotless, the shower cubicles were huge you could actually drop the soap in the shower and pick it up again. Barry the manager was very friendly and helpful, the park while small most of the sites were a comfortable size, there was a large unpowered area a good laundry, a tv room and an outside camp kitchen. Barry mentioned that he quite often hosts clubs, we would be happy to stay there again. Marty

Cost please Marty as sounds good on our way home. Eldorado- did you notice the very tiny home with solar. home about the size of an 18' van. It was so cold that day that it was the first time Bruce had ever worn a beenie! The dredge was interesting to look at also.

Hi Macca, Sorry did not notice the tiny house, yes the dredge is very interesting as is the storey behind it as well as it being the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.Cost for a powered site is $35, I asked if he gave a seniors discount, as there were 6 caravans Barry reduced the price to $30 pn there is no harm in asking. Other parks we stay at when travelling from Sydney to Melbourne are Glenrowan and Chiltern, the Winton Wetlands near Glenrowan are definitely worth a visit. Cheers, Marty
