Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!
Having been forced to update from the Late Lamented Deceased 2007 vintage Jimny to a 2018 Baleno, I have discovered that fuel efficiency has made progress in leaps & bounds!
We are comparing a 1400cc naturally-aspirated Jimny with 4-speed auto against a 998cc turbocharged Baleno wth 6-speed auto. (Performance difference is amazing! )
Below is the 'lifetime averages' row from my spreadsheet. Every fill since Jim's purchase was recorded.
Note particularly 'litres purchased' against 'trip since last fill', and consequent economy figures (pick your preferred way of measuring this )

Bruce??
What's the largest file I can post? This one is 180kb.
When I double-click it comes up to about 1/4 of my (15") screen, but figures are readable.
George,
Just replaced it with a 247kb image.Try that...

Wow, that Baleno sure is frugal on the fuel @ 6.6ltrs per 100km. The Prius gets around 5.5ltr/100km around town but granted it is a 1500cc normally aspirated with hybrid drive, that suffers a bit when the pedal meets the metal and now the agress-o-meter (Ltr/100km in 5 min interval bar graph) isn't lit up Margaret has become a lot more lead footed
Jim is a 4 x 4 as well and not actually aerodynamic so he started out behind the eight ball to start with Still very happy with the purchase though, none of the others in the fleet get much better than 6km/ltr and the Ford you just didn't want to know because its saving graces were performance and comfort on a long trip, it certainly eat the kms even though it eat the fuel while doing it

From memory it's 1000 X 1000pix or 500kb so plenty of 'scope'.
Have you done that many km's already in the 'new' one?
Which one is better for a headon with a truck? (ouch!!)

I know that the earlier Suzuki Baleno's didn't fair well when ploughing up the rear of a Hilux @ 120km/h, if the goose neck of the Hilux hadn't gone through the radiator and into the block she would have been decapitated by the tray and I would have been turned turtle as she went under.

Bruce,
Jim the Junior Jeep has a certified bullbar which works with the crumple zones & airbags, whereas the Baleno has a longer nose with crumple zones and plenty more airbags.
I don’t think I’d like to take on a truck headfirst with either car.
However, as Jim runs/ran out of puff at about 125km/h, and I’ve seen 145km/h on Baleno’s speedo — with more under the right foot — (don’t tell SWMBO!), I think I’d put my money on Jim for survivability. That extra 20km/h would have to almost double the kinetic energy to be dissipated.

Yep & if you use a 'good' program it'll reduce that 800 pixel picture to more like 70kb rather than 468kb.
(and there will be almost no detectable difference)
Irfan View does it but I use a VERY old 32bit program called PSP (paint shop pro 6.0)
