Grr

Post by Kappy »

I just spent over an hour drafting a post with pics and when I went to preview, stated I was forbidden.

and all was lost in cyber space.

I had used photobucket as even though I resized the pics to 25kb they wouldn't load.???
Cheers

I think Photobucket have changed the way they 'operate' now.
Firstly you have to pay to have an account & secondly they won't allow you to hyperlink to a photo on their system.
They want to ensure the people visit the site so they reap the revenue from ad-views.
Why don't you just use the photo album I have provided?? At least you'll know they will stay there at least until I close the forum....... (or my executor does!!)
In the meantime I'll check out your permissions on here.

Yes photobucket had become a real issue for many forums, but it has recently been sold to new owners and is back to it's old self and working fine.
So I doubt it's a photobucket problem in this instance.

Here's one of my recent ones for example.

I discovered the "Forbidden to post on this forum" was a naughty word filter and in my case it was the brand name of the little blue pills. Can't send it in a PM either, but if you back arrow (not sure if your browser program has that NP) the long post is still there, so I just cut and paste to word when that happens and try deleting each word until it works in preview, then I can do a rewrite to get around the problem. Thankfully T1 isn't in the dirty word filter over here

Bernie may I suggest you just post a link to either your Photobucket account or just to the photo you want to show rather than linking to it like you did.
I suspect many won't be able to view it anyway.
A lot of browser block content from 'other sources'.
If you use the facility provided in the forum software it'll reduce server load & allow viewers to only see the bigger size photo if they choose to. I'm about to run out of my monthly data usage so it effects me too.
I may not use much in the next 5 days.... $10 a gig is rediculous.!!

Sorry Bruce,
Didn't realise it had an impact on you.
All the other forums actually prefer to link pics, so i thought here might be the same too.

apologies,
Bernie

Bruce

I need some guidance on how to use the Photo Album.

Just tried to upload some resized pic and wouldn't allow uploading.
Cheers
