Roberts Move to SA

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Removalist now have everything in two containers, well almost I still have a few things to take in the trailer. Last day for cleaning of the house and another run to the local dump station.

Still have to pack the caravan and do the shopping as they packed all the supplies I had set aside. O well support the local economy for one last time.

Looking forward to being on the road tomorrow and should be in Adelaide by the end of next week Robert

What a crap of a day the purchasers notified our conveyencing people at 10am they were not going to settle. Turns out they were trying to screw us for $15000. We stood our ground and the agent steped in and worked hard. Place was first to settle at 10:30am so it was a very stress full day as it went back and forth. The agent tossed in about $1000 of the commission to fix some shit and arranged a 3:00pm settlement. At 2:50 they agreed to settle, only after us to still drop the price. My good wife told the agent to tell them to go F—- themselves.

Now at Alstonville in NSW with the mob from the Camp Oven forum, a great bunch of people who made us welcome and we had a great night. Will be here till Monday and then on to Adelaide. The week can onlyimprove.

Trutst every one has a geat weekend cheers Robert

What a rotten lot they are? Good on yu wife Robert for telling them where and what to do. If the contract was unconditional they should of had no way of not settling. Hope the house gets wood worm when they do take possession Rat bags every where.

Hmmmmmm...
Would it be legal to insert a clause in the sale contract stating that if settlement is NOT completed on the appointed day, the price goes UP... say, $1000/day???

Another thought, Robert...
I would have been very polite, and told them, "Thank you for the donation of your deposit. I have another buyer willing to pay the agreed price, waiting to see if this sale falls through. I will be calling him at 4pm."

If that was in the contract and the buyer signed it, that would be legal and enforceable I imagine.

The agent should have already pressured the buyer to get things moving or he would offer to the next bidder risking the buyers deposit.
Were there any clauses relating to late settlement penalties Robert ?
