Thanks Terry but I don't have a heater fuel tank I just used the jerry can to prove that the heater works...
I don't even know if I can get the fuel pick up pipe out of the bus tank because of the location and I sure don't want to try and drop a 200lt tank to the ground , especially sitting in a muddy paddock . Its 2/3rd full .
As said earlier I will run a new line from the tank some time tomorrow depending on the weather . its a 50k round trip to town and have done it the last two days , but shopping day tomorrow again ..
Bernie .
What did you do to your rig today?
Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Well back to the air leak . Today I bought some new fuel line and have just come inside....bloody rain again...
I bypassed every thing and just went tank to engine , well not quite I joined at the diesel heater take off...( the T piece )
You bloody bewdy....NO air leak and the diesel heater is working as well , with no air bubbles .
So for the experiment I have eliminated the fuel tank and pick up pipe as the problem .
Now what I have bypassed is the fuel filter next to the tank , and the fuel line down to where the T piece is .
Tomorrow...weather not looking good.... I will go thru the filter to either eliminate it or prove its the cause ?
If it works through the filter that only leaves the fuel line I have by passed . The fuel lines are inside a rubber cover much like a pushbike inner tube so cant see the line for inspection , the "tube" is about 6 foot 6" long .
The joys of motorhoming .
Also I jumped the gun with the temp here this morning by daylight it was minus one .

Well hopefully the end of this , for the time being..
Today I bypassed the original fuel line and everything is working as it should ..
I was happy it wasn't the fuel filter ..
I think there maybe a pinhole in the line.. It can wait till we get home .
Was really eerie here when I was working on the bus , the darkest clouds all around but for about 20 mins or so I was in sunshine almost like the eye of a cyclone !!
Took advantage of the weather to split some more timber for the relies , who will be home tomorrow depending on the weather , its not looking good for a Dash 8 to land at Devonport , I don't know their capability's .

Yeah, Bernie,
Landing in a Dash-8... close your eyes until you're on terra firma...

I don't know if any of you remember the "Shorts 360" locally called the flying shed at Maryborough Qld aero club .
landed in the one night in a massive storm was a credit to the flight crew , was scary enough in the back I was just outside the cabin crew and could see the effort they were putting into the landing ...No cabin doors in those days I could listen to them talking that's how close I was to them .
At the moment their flight at 5am the time now is one hour from Melbourne .
