Try using a fan that mounts to the top of the exhaust pipe so the noise is outside. We used those wirlie-gig things on top so there was always an updraft and the more heat generated from the stove the faster the thing spun so it worked very well as a non powered vent and only required the rangehood fan to be turned on if the smoke was extreme like when searing steaks or salmon in the griddle pan. Still gotta do this mod at the Mannum house cause it gets smoked out big time

Yep... thinking the price I'd like is not going to be the price I'll advertise at.

Will start going through the on line sites to get an idea of their asking prices for similar items & probably drop my preferred $$$ somewhat.

Nah Lance.. been there - done that. Van - Winnie - current van.

Reluctant decision made due to health conditions plateauing - on the higher side - & little if any prospect of them declining to the point where returning to our love of travel could be a possibility.

No great dramas, just logical decisions needed to be made.

Not the rig, but the Terios. Will be replacing the battery today, finally on it's way out after 7 years and it was a cheapy from Supercheap.

That's a bit of a disappointment Chuck, sometimes the hard decisions just have to be made.

THIRD day on the road. :D
First night was at the back of the Royal Mail Hotel in the vast metropolis of Booroorban, (pop: 17) on the Cobb Highway, 50km S of Hay. (No phone coverage... not even 'SOS only'!)
Second night at Wilcannia. Meh. Interesting, historic town, now crumbling & dying. CP on supposed 'farmstay' was just a CP. No access to farm. (No Optus signal - just 'SOS only' for us non-Telstra people.)
Last night was planned to be a large rest area 60km S of Bourke on road from Cobar.
Not there.
No sign it was ever there, although we did stop there coupla years ago!
OK, alternative was another rest area 20km up the road. Same story!
Hmmm. Perhaps Bourke's CP owners were in the ear of the council... there were some great rest areas on the Wilcannia-Cobar leg...
Called in to Bourke's Info Centre. Told RAs were closed years ago, but couldn't/wouldn't say why.
Told us the free camp at May's Bend, 10km N of town on road to Cunnamulla, is still open. No water, no facilities. Must be self-contained.
So, armed with a photocopied mud map, we found it.
It's so good, we've decided to stay two nights! Acres and acres of free space, camp anywhere: close to Darling River & other campers, or well away if you prefer. (Even has Optus 4G coverage!) :D :D :D
I suspect it's such a popular local fishing spot that closure might result in riots at Council Chambers...
Cunamulla, here we come (tomorrow). Will be staying in $10/n C%#A-friendly park (to refill water tank, mainly).
Last visit, (3Y ago) Cunnamulla was decidedly RV-UNfriendly. Town has since gained RV Friendly status. Will be interesting to see what's changed...
Further reports will be in 'Where are you' page. :P
Regards & God bless,
Ray
