Grotty Camper warning

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Grotty Camper warning

Post by Greynomad »

At May's Bend free camp on 22 August, we watched a bearded bloke, about 6ft, aged mid-60s, insert a soft-drink bottle into a hollow log.
Thinking he was just too lazy to take his rubbish with him, I went out & retrieved it.
Full of urine!
The van may not have been equipped with a bathroom/toilet... but there's no excuse for what he did.
So I marched back to his rig with the bottle.
He tried to intimidate me by standing less than a foot from my face (he's half-a-head taller) and said, "Yeah? What is it?"
Keeping ever-so-calm, I raised the bottle to eye level and told him, "It's people like you who give free-campers a bad name. Dispose of it properly." handed it to him and walked away.

I guess he was disappointed I didn't get agressive, and maybe a little shamed (I hope so) so walked into what little grass was alive, poured it out, then stowed the bottle in his ute. We made it obvious we were both watching him.

So keep your eyes peeled for a white Isuzu ute with an aluminium box canopy, blue twin-hull punt on a roof rack, pulling a Jayco Journey Outback pop-top. Vic rego: 1LU-7QQ, with 'Ballarat Isuzu' numberplate surrounds. (Couldn't get the van rego.)
The crazy part is, both he and his partner were very careful to remove their dusty shoes at the van door before entering!

If Burke & Wills had carried a plastic bottle for that reason, it would still be in the log in perfect condition, and with its contents intact!
THAT’s why I confronted him! 🤬

Wow, You were game to confront the bloke, never no what he might have done or what he might have been on, lucky he wasn't aggressive, unfortunately this type of low life are spoiling free/low cost camping Australia wide.

Good onyu Ray & Joy. I have also done the face to face on this very issue. I have no time for that type of scumbags.

Dottie
We were thinking of you when we discussed the incident later.
Reckoned you'd probably either throw it at him, or pour the contents over his head! ;)
Had he refused to take the bottle back, I was prepared to pour it all over his breakfast, which his partner was cooking on the BBQ behind him.
After what I've been through in the past 20-odd years, I no longer have the patience to suffer fools/idiots silently.
