Great Station Stay in Qld

Post by Greynomad »

If you’re travelling Outback Qld, try the Alroy Campground near Eulo.
Massive area to set up anywhere.
For just $10pp/pn (cash only) you get good quality artesian water to top up your tank, basic camp kitchen, artesian (hot) showers, toilets, warm artesian spa and friendly hosts who bring around firewood for campers and are ready for a chat.
Campground was opened only two years ago and is being expanded.
Mac & Mary are otherwise doing it tough. On 60,000 acres they can run only 200 cattle! 😳
And every few days Mac has to get out the bulldozer and push over a few Mulga trees to give those poor cattle something to eat!
I reckon it’s good for everyone if we go and stay at places like Alroy.
We intended to stay just one night. It was so peaceful we stayed three. 🤗
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Thanks Ray, might have to check that out a little later this year. Hopefully they may have had some decent rain by then.
Cheers

David,
If they've had "decent rain" their black soil campground might be a quagmire!!
Check first... Local info centres should have their flyer.
I may still have one. I'll check & add their phone number here...
They'll be in the next edition of CAW.

Ray and Keith, Thanks for that great info. We might head out that way in the upcoming school holidays. That just happens to be one of the joys of being married to a school teacher.
Cheers

It's the whack over the knuckles with the thin side of the ruler that hurts the most though.

We had a teacher whose name was Singh. Nickname "jagged"
He used to love those 15" rulers with the thin brass strip on the edge.
Don't pay attention, you got the edge over your skull, became quite jagged after a bit !
That was where nick came from.
BUT best class attendance and marks in whole school !!!!!!!!!!
Why don't we have those teachers now ?
Vanishing Point, almost ready to vanish
Suzuki GV more than ready to go NOW !
