How Small is Too Small?

May I have opinions please?

My van is 10' 6" only.
Just a wee bit cramped. But should be fine for a solo male. well, that's what i'm telling myself.
To specifics.

I have to design and build the kitchen cupboard. The original Franklin cupboard was 500mm deep.

But, the cupboard opposite, which was originally a wardrobe, has been rebuilt as a fridge and pantry cupboard so is about 100mm to 150mm deeper than the original.
To avoid making it feel anymore cramped than it need be, I thought i'd just reduce the kitchen cupboard down to 400mm.
Went shopping for a suitable sink and found this one.

Size is right. might even be able to shave a bit more off the depth of the kitchen cupbard.

But, is it too small to be practical?
That's my question.

Why not try a plastic bowl for a good size, round or oblong? We had a friend with a very very tiny van, sink was a waste of space so they had a piece of board with a small cut out for the plastic bowl could just sit in (not all the way through) that gave them the extra room in the cupboards under the sink was. Might og got an extra dozen cans of baked beans in but hey better than none I am terrible at trying to describe this kind of thing sorry if too confusing. No I'm not, I am female so you have to accept the disadvantage.

I guess it also depends on the build of the person using the van as well.
If you're 6ft 2" and 275lbs then it is going to be cramped!!!

Yes, I understand what you're describing.

I did think of the plastic bowl angle. except I was going to just sit it on the bench instead of cutting a hole. That way, I have the full bench to use when the bowl is put away. But the idea just didn't sit easy with me.
But, I admit, the idea hasn't been entirely eliminated. One of those collapsible jobbies maybe. Or maybe not. Another reason why I'm seeking opinions. To help me clarify my own and maybe come up with something I hadn't thought of.

The question is Dot, is it too small to actually use?
From a practical, trying to do the dishes point of view. How small a bowl is too small to actually use? How big is your sink? Do you ever think it's too small, or too big?

Thanks vik, but way out of my budget i'm afraid. plus, it has a built in tap. That means an electric pump.
I've found a really swish looking hand pump. I figure a hand pump over an electric pump will be a constant reminder to go easy on the water. i'll only have 60 litres on board, plus whatever I can carry in the ute/panelvan

Measure your plates and pots you will be using and get bowl to suit. I hardly use our sink find the bowl method doesn't use as much water plus easy to chuck out (where allowed)

Thanks Bruce. Internal width is 2040 mm.
A 500mm or even a 600mm cupboard will fit easily. But I'm afraid it might start giving a 'closed'in' feeling in general. That's why I'm thinking, make the kitchen cupboard as skinny as possible. To give the illusion of more space.

I'm what one would normally describe as skinny. Although, I prefer trim, taut and terrific. Ok, ok..... with a bit of a belly now I'm afraid.

I know the sink will fit, but is it too small to be practical?

Just had a "flash" not menopausal but is there any scope for a small outside sink set up/slide out?
