Thank you Bruce. That saves me a bit of searching. The one in the middle picture is what I was thinking of. Similar to the one I mentioned with my arc welder.
They should also have a double or even triple extension so you can pull the shelf right out clear of the cabinet.
i'm off to study it more carefully now. thanks again

They are all ball bearing slides and the runners will get ball imprints hammered into them from the vibration stuffing them.
Can't wait to see what Dottie does with that lot

Hi Jim
I bought my slides from UES International in Adelaide and they support the weight of the slide, heavy angle iron frame, plywood base, plywood battery box, 400 Amp lithium batteries and 2 N70Z startbatteries.
After a few thousand K's including the Gibb River Road, they stil slide ok.
Regards Geoff

Thank you Geoff,
I've bookmarked the UES site for further investigation.
A few thousand K's on Gibb River Rd is indeed a good testimonial.
I can't help but think the answer to Terry's warning of vibration killing a slide is to buy heavy duty industrial quality over cheap stuff intended for home kitchen use and over engineer so reaching only a portion of the rated capacity.
Plus, maybe some means to support the load when the slide is closed to reduce or eliminate movement when travelling.

thanks again
Jim

Hi Jim,
The problem with a slide out battery tray is the telescoping of the big heavy cables & worries about rubbing etc when closing, its OK if you have plenty of overhead room above them.
I don't have much over head room & wished I didn't do a slide out but pivoted the whole tray on one corner where the cables come from & a simple 90 degree flex would of worked & been much safer. It was built for heavy lead acid batteries but have had lighter LIFeP04 for some years so that helps.
Cheers - Leigh
