"tanks" here ---
I was discharged from the hospital just after lunch today and I am now back in residence at The Bunker, and just taking it easy and swallowing pills and drinking water.
I MISS MY MATE !! I have yet to realise that he has gone.
Enough for now----I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind words while I was inn hospital.
Next time I will take my laptop with me so as I can keep[ up to date on all of the activity.

"tanks" now at the Dysart Bunker
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Mr Russell had a stage 5 heart condition, he had a semi-stroke some months ago, he was deaf and only had around 5% vision in his right eye, plus his back legs were failing him. He had lost a lot of weight and weighed only 7kg.
Mr Russell - 2001-2018, R.I.P. my friend.
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep
Then you must do what must be done
For this last battle can't be won.
We've had so many years
What is to come can hold no fears
You'd not want me to suffer sso
When the time comes please let me go.
Take me where my needs they'll tend
Only stay with me until the end
and hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
Don'y grieve that it should be you
Who has to decide this thing to do
We've been so close, we two these years

I am shedding many a tear as I type this, and I am thinking of the 17 years Mr Russell and I have shared each others company.
I realised that I could no longer look after my mate with my present and ongoing medical condition. The Community Care ladies and my housekeeper were looking after Mr Russell as far as food and water while I was in hospital, but he was fretting for me and not eating very well.
The Nurse Manager at the hospital allowed Mr Russell to come and stay in the hospital room with me and the nursing staff all gave him love and cuddles while he was there. Due to my condition I could not take him to the Vet and the Community Care came to the rescue again. Mr. Russell knew Jim the Vet (by smell) who had been treating him for several months, and had a quiet peaceful passing.
