Hi Terry,

Can I ask what brand and type of solar controller does it have?

I spent a while chasing noise in my system. The noise was finally tracked down to noise from;

1. oscillator in the DC-DC converter in the MPPT controller.
2. a little DC-DC converter in a relay

The noise found its way into things and ended up giving really bad/false current measuments.... which gave me false current discharges between 3-20 amps.

If you want, I can give you a demo of my scope at Taggerty.

It is the system we have developed and used for the last 7 yrs, this is the first case we have seen where the noise was greater than the lithium battery could absorb. It would look horrendous on a scope I'd imagine, multiple wave forms super imposed and very high voltage spikes, well enough to fry a fly back diode that is part of the solid state relay anyway. There is quite a bit more but I'll wait till Taggerty to tell you, not really something that should be on an open forum.

We might be gone for even longer than expected. We are now in Norseman, finally. Not sure if we picked up bad fuel, have blocked fuel filters or other mechanical problems, but it was a very slow trip from Southern Cross to here. At times we struggled to hold 55km/h and peaked 85km/h on the long down hill bits till we hit the flat, then back to 55km/h. I can really feel for those truckies that drove the 1418 Benz prime movers now :lol: The Hino must have thought Brian was driving it again ;)
We are in an RV free camp park listening to the local K9 population having a long distance howling and barking competitions, oh how we have missed suburbia :roll:
