Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Deb,
Is the Murrurundi show a regular thing, or a one-off?
Dottie,
Wot Peter said... why would you yell “Ford”???
Is that the very worst thing you can think of??

Maybe instead you could yell “J F’ing C!”...
That’s “Julius Fording Caesar!”

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Hope you are sleeping well Dot xxxx
Well the King of the Ranges event is a three day show, so today was also filled with amazing stuff. This festival is meant to show all that a typical stockman has to deal with on any given day. So today was the finals and to judge the overall event, the day was filled with catching brumbies (with a 3 minute time limit) and then the final 10 had to do a buck jumping thing with very young brumbies. A day of excitement, thrills n spills....more spills to the riders tho. So I am sunburnt and windburnt, but happy and tired, so I am off to the land of nod.
sleep tight everyone night night xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Sorry Ray, just saw your question,
King of the Ranges is held last weekend in February every year...usual temp up here this time of year is way over 40s, we lucked it with mainly 24-9 and a cooling breeze.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Too hot too hot that's me
No sorry it's the weather
Took Brian to the vet this arvo for his check up and he had his worm tablet shoved down his throat. Deborah I hate those rodeo things and think they should be banned, it is cruelty at it's best. The amount of broken legs and necks of the poor animals is horrific. They use cattle prods, spurs, and flanker straps to make the animals buck. The little calves are also injured or killed when they are roped and pulled down so sharply. I would to do the same things to humans if I could. For the people that say it is entertainment need to get some mental health help, they clearly have no empathy towards animals. End of rant
Another rant is We were notified that the power people would be turning off the power from 8am till 3pm this Wednesday, when the temp will be near 40 deg, what about the poor elderly that maybe need machines for oxygen, going to do and no air con either? We shall be heading out to the bus and the big red genny will be working. Time to head to bed so goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Terry and Margaret x
glad you are home safe and ?? sound

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, I understand where your thoughts about rodeo events comes from. This was a little bit more humane and the RSPCA were present at all events to ensure no cruelty was happening. Normally, I wouldn't go to a rodeo either, but I didn't know what we were going to be watching. Stay cool down there xxxx
Arrived home, totally unpacked the van and put everything away, so now I am stuffed. So goodnight one and all xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
There is so much cruelty these days towards all animals I am sick of the human race. We got a sms today to say the power outage planned for tomorrow has been delayed. Don't think it was for the comfort or safety of the public but I reckon it was the workers not being able to work in the extreme heat, thank goodness the oldies wouldn't have coped. Had my dyke hair cut today, it is growing back faster than ever plus it is going curly so I now have some "short and curlies"
Time to get to bed e buys now so goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dottie,
Understand your thoughts on rodeos. We happened to be in an outback Qld town Which Shall Remain Nameless when they had a rodeo.
It was a great excuse for a p!ss-up, and I doubt that half the crowd was either watching or interested in the ring events.
And RUBBISH! They had lots of 44s scattered about the place, but the yobbos couldn't be bothered walking 6ft to drop their tinnies and burger wrappers in the bins! AAAARRRRGH!
And they complain about aboriginals being grubs! Reckon the clean-up crew spent more time after that rodeo than they would in the Aboriginal settlement just outside town!
On the subject of power cuts, we had the same happen here just after New Year.
Forecast top of 45+, and the power company announced they would cut supply from 09:30 to 15:30!
We did the same: retreated to Girt & ran the a/c via the genny for the afternoon & evening... power wasn't actually restored until 18:25!
As we're an all-electric house, we had a BBQ dinner that night.
Up yours, power company!
