Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

After dealing with that mob for the past 15 yrs or so things have not gotten any better by the sound of it.. Just last week G gets a letter to say he will be able to get the old age pension end of March but he will have to send them his original birth cert   helllloooo no way do you send anyone an original anything, but how come they know all your details to send you such a letter in the first place  mind boggling the way these places think or is that the right descriptive word :?

Seems like it's time to hit the sack, Goodnight everyone x :D

Good night Dot, have to agree with everything you said about Centrelink, horrible place whose sole purpose is to ensure ongoing social control.

Centrelink is not about helping people or giving everyone a fair go, it's real purpose is to control the masses, the unemployed, pensioners, students and single parents. Social control is achieved by making them conform, giving them a number, making them queue up and submit endless forms, so that they can then hand out a small pittance, just enough to struggle by on, just enough that they don't starve to death.

After watching the French Revolution the English ruling classes were in fear of a similar event in England, so they instituted work houses under the guise of charity and as long as the people submitted they were considered the 'deserving poor' and were given a merger handout and forced to endure the work houses to keep them occupied rather than take matters into their own hands.

If you play their game you are considered deserving, if not, you are cut off for specific periods of time to enforce submission. Sounds just like the conditions imposed on dole and pension payments today!

Unfortunately not a great deal has changed over the last hundred or so years.

I had to go to Medicare last week to lodge a claim for my Mum, normal visits to the doctors are bulk billed but home visits aren't.
Now that Medicare are in with Centrelink you need to line up in the same queue.
I finally got to see the lady for Medicare who was very easy to deal with. :D
I explained the situation to her and added that I had Power of Attorney for Mum which was lodged with Centrelink but not Medicare, she said, no problem, I'll go and ask them for a copy.
5 minutes later she came back and said,(her exact words) Bloody bureaucratic crap at its best, they can't give me a copy due to the privacy laws.
I had to go home and get my original document and take it back so that she could copy it.
Luckily we live only a few minutes away, when i got back some little Hitler said I would have wait my turn in the queue again, a couple of minutes later I was spotted by the lady I had dealt with and she walked over to me and took the paperwork off me copied it and gave me back the original,Little Hitler wasn't impressed when I said ,,,,,,,,it's not what you know, it's who you know.

Since we have been dealing with CL for quite a few years now- while still farming and daughters were at Uni in the 1990 actually- I (we) can honestly say that have not had a problem with them. BB usually does the talking but he always has all papers with him, knows what we require etc. Have to totally agree with the surrounding attendees though. How much does a cake of soap cost :?:

Don't do that yet T1, I've got a few days of catching up to do still.  I have been playing nurse to Terrie as she had her knee done on Thursday. I am probably not best suited to that profession, cranky old bugger has been mentioned

I might be doing a "Lance Armstrong" here.
As Dottie knows, tonight is 'Aerial Night', when I'm bouncing off the walls, because of the side-effects of one of my chemo drugs I take once a week.
;)
I'll probably see you all out, :? unless I take a nighty-night pill...
:D
