Navman change of POI format

Post by homeless »

I am trying to help someone with their NAVMAN GPS.

One of the most unyielding things I have played with.

Does anyone know how to change the format of the POI entry so she can enter the poi's out of the camps book.

Spent a fair bit of the day doing just that.

just finished mucking around with it and found it had to be done in the software that does the uploads.

Even then it was a lot of mucking around as it was not obvious that it had been done and there is nothing ion the instructions that tells you how it is done.

Anyway it is all fixed but I think they are very unyielding as you cant just find things easy like the Garmin.

There is no one step back it is all the way and start again. There is no simple type when looking for a POI and you cant add your current position to a POI or favourite so you can return to that spot.

She is going to see if she can return it and get a Garmin.

It was over $400 for a heap of S**T.

Brian I think you'll find that most of the BRAND name ones try to lock you into their software etc.
The no brand ones (read cheap Chinese) ones are so easy to add apps & maps etc to.
I did read where one particular brand makes it difficult to ad POI's to. There is some software that you can use to merge the POI's first with the existing POI's or else you just lose the original ones.
