Masters has 20/30% of these at the moment.... their prices are slowly coming down.

Quite right, a slow increase in cheapness -if there is such a thing!
Bought a 20 and 10 micron pair from them today and installed pending tests tomorrow

we double filter all water into the tank, use a sediment filter, the wound string type, then a 5 micron charcoal final filter, don't bother filtering out of the tank, only problem we ever had was when I used some one else's hose ended up with a taste in the tank had to change the tank to get rid of it, I think a lizard or the like had crawled into the hose.
We have standard 9" cartridges and found that they are available at most country hardware,s and Bunnings as a fall back, We carry a spare set and change the filters every year, usually around xmas.
