Running separate tanks for drinking and freshwater, different filter sets both using dual 10" cartridges.
What type of cartridge would be best in the freshwater from your experience? What micron filtration?
thanks

Re: cartridge types
Why do you need to filter it at all? Drinking water I can understand and that is used for ice and cooking, but the rest is washing water so does it really need to be filtered?

Re: cartridge types
We filter all incoming water with a fine carbon cartridge (half a micron) and then it is filtered again as it comes through the cold water tap in the kitchen. (5 microns) (If the filter for the sink is too fine the water pump finds it a bit harder to get a good stream) much like a prostate problem

In reality we probably dont -but we can, these particular filter housings were already there so, may as well. Coming from southern Vic means we are spoiled with beautiful tap water. You South Aussies wouldn't understand. Even ex- Gods country south aussiesT1 Terry wrote:Why do you need to filter it at all? Re: cartridge types
Mannum water is ok, that stuff at Dotties place tastes like it was filtered through a bag of cement
Haven't been tempted to try Adelaide water. Probably a10 micron filter would be enough and a small rock remover before a 10 micron for the filler inlet if you intend to pump out of creeks etc, but most town water supplies are fairly good as far as getting the dirt out. The taste is a different matter, needs a carbon filter for the drinking water and maybe even one of those silver impregnated ones if the stomach is easy upset.
