Some youngish lass leading you around to do jobs
Take care mate hope it all works out for you !!
Hmmm..... I doubt Margaret would go for the option though  Checking her assets out using the braille method might get me into a spot of trouble as well, but if she decided to fight back I wouldn't see it coming
I guess we have to weigh up the options, it isn't cheap employing someone and despite what appears to be a big bill at the end, there isn't that much money from each job. An employee might step up the output but then we would need to spend money generating more work and so the whole thing escalates.
I would have reached retirement age in just over 12 mths, every chance I would qualify for a disability pension now both eyes have the problem, so that could add some financial assistance to the whole training someone to be my replacement, but then again I could sit back and use the money to support the household expenses ... but then I might loose my Man Shed  :? Might be time to get more serious about the You Tube video thing and see if there is an income to be had there.

I know a couple of people who have the same condition as you and one stopped its progress returning some of their sight to usable levels after a year or so after the changed their lives. Started to see an improvement after about 2-3 months and from there it just got better they also got into a fitness regime because things like high blood pressure and bad blood circulation have a big bearing on the condition.

One refused to believe it was a lifestyle condition and is now completely sightless, they still refuse to believe the other one can still see and has pretty good vision, although nowhere near 20/20. He is so angry he has gone blind in his late 60's over just a few short years, but is so in denial will not do anything other than take the drugs the doctors give him which does nothing, doctors really don't have a clue about lifestyle diseases and how to reverse them.

The other one underwent a complete dietary change, giving away their heavy meat and dairy diet. Now their diet includes bilberries and Ginkgo Biloba. They eat loads of green veggies and drink Chrysanthemum flower tea and some other herb teas, think valerian and lemon verbena. Can get the diet they use for you if interested, the least it will do is make you feel heaps better and stop the degenerative progress.
The blood pressure and circulation are both good to excellent NP, it isn't to do with a poor diet because Margaret is really into the healthy eating thing. Most likely yet another side effect of the motor vehicle accident and/or the drugs to keep me getting out of bed each morning. Hard to say if it's hereditary because I'm well and truly reaching old age compared to the rest of my immediate family, not many more yrs and I will have had more birthday anniversaries the lot of them. Considering the big money was on me not seeing my 50th birthday the life style changes started a while back in my early 40's. The fact that both eyes suffered the same rapid onset degeneration, the right one is well documented to be fine 6 weeks ago to hopefully stabilising enough to retain the vision I still have, suggest it is a lot more than a poor diet considering I'm also taking the special herbal capsules aimed at stopping macular degeneration
In my case, without the needles every 4 weeks the fluid build up would tear the back of my eye away from its connecting points, even this 6 week period between needles resulted in a deterioration in the left eye back to where I was in January, that was only 2 mths treatment at that stage.
Time will tell, either I'll get the hang of working without depth perception or I'll get that frustrated with the whole lot I'll give it away for something else. My serious concern really is loosing my heavy combination licence or even just the heavy rigid meaning I couldn't even finish the big bus project and head off to see what I can till I can't see any more .....

Very true Bruce, but I think there are some really good training schemes out there, and maybe even a few more when all the Covid dramas have moved on.
I would suggest that it would be an interesting field to venture into, for any young bloke person as it would incorporate both mainstream electrical training and auto electrical.
Who knows what this will lead into in the next ten years. It certainly is the future direction that things will go. Especially the stand alone, or fully off grid domestic and commercial systems.
