And I may be interested in the Joey if you sell it.

I think a few of the diesel truck importers are bringing them into the country now, i'm guessing they would have been bolted to the Cummins when the came in so a package deal might be available. I think it was Diesels plus i saw some advertised, could be wrong.

Wish they had been around when I was chasing one up some time ago now. When I inquired one dealer laughed and said I had more chance of winning lotto than getting my maulers on one. Good box for a bus if it comes of.

I visited the chap who had the Phaser for sale but it's gone.
He has an 6-354 motor that was in good going order before being taken out of an International truck.
There's a few bits been stripped off it but all your bits will be transferable.
It's too far from you but he's after around $1,000 for it like it is or he can replace the pistons to give more horsepower.
The head was reconditioned not long before it was removed from the truck.
Anyway it gives you an idea.

Hi Pokey
An intresting problem. I hope you do not mind if I offer a few suggestions, First I would retain the perkins engine, no expensive adaption of other makes of engines, etc.
Second I would obtain a second hand 6t-354, recondition it or get a good runner, these engines are easy to overhaul and are very reliable, my mate just sold one he had sitting in his shed fully recoed for four grand. Try to get a later one with the Holset Turbo or later still Airesearch.
The Fuller gearbox, it will be either a T53 or a T54 I can explain the difference but is irelevent, jumping out of third gear is caused by engaging dog on gear getting a slight taper which pushes second & third selector sliding dog out of mesh.
You would need to replace third gear and selector dog. You can strip these boxes without removing same, except the clutch shaft .If you wanted to know how just let me know.
The gear box can handle the additional touque if you went down the Turbo path.
You can not fit a turbo to your non turboed engine, different pistons and con rods.
I am not saying it will be a ball of mussel but would be more than able.
Brakes it would depend on what path you go down.
Cheers Noel
