"tanks" here Shirley,
I went the cheap way and purchased a 55 litre fridge/freezer 12 volt/240 volt car fridge/freezer for around $450 delivered by courier last year before the trip North to the 40 Mile Beach gathering.
I have no complaints at all with the unit, and considering the $2000.00 plus cost for a Waeco or Ingel of the same capacity I am very satisfied with what I have. It has built in battery protection, so no worry about the house batteries going flat
It is very quiet and I have to listen twice to hear if it is running.
My thinking is that if it only lasts one season I can toss it and buy another and still be ahead.
I purchased it on e-Bay---just watch out that the delivery is free as some sellers want to add on delivery charges.
There are several sizes/capacity offered---I took the 55 litre unit so as I could fit in my WEIS BARS and "Russells" snacks.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

I bought a similar one to this 4 years ago.
It was a 35 / 40 ltr one the same size as the35Ltr Engel and the temp controls were on the front near the lower grill, these look a better arrangement as the controls are where it's easier to see them

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-65L-Port ... 5412750fe2.

Better (slightly) performance than the Engel of the same size, we use it as a freezer when we're away for any length of time.

Because mine are in a slightly air restricted space I put a Fridge Fan( the ones with a small solar panel - on the roof of the canopy beside the big one that does the fridge batteries ) inside the case ( on the engel in front of the grill ) to boost the air flow over them.
It reduced the power drain by the Engel considerably

"tanks" here ---
Shirley, the unit I have was purchased from BIT-DEALS on e-bay and it is a 55 litre MISHTO made by Cenco.
They are listed at $419.00 incl delivery at present.
There is also a 35 litre model listed for $369.00 with free delivery.
I found bit-deals a good seller with fast courier delivery and good back-up and communication in relation to the several items I have purchased from them.
Do take note of the dimensions of the fridge to make sure that you can fit it in the vehicle. My 55 litre wont fit into any of the bins, so I have to travel with it in the house part. This is no problem in the Winnebago as it fits in the access way between the drivers area and the house area, leaving enough room to move from front to back -- even "Russell" can walk past it to get into the drivers area to tell me time to stop for a leak.
Go to e-Bay and lookup:
NEW! 55L Portable Freezer Fridge 12V/24V/240V Camping Car Boat Caravan Cooler.
have a look at bit-deals listing. I assure you that you wont be disappointed with it.

I HAVE SENT YOU AN EMAIL THROUGH THE FORUM SYSTEM

Just received this email from https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/komodo-42l ... d-freezer/]Kogan $369 for a 42 ltr compressor esky type fridge and the usual add on if you want to buy an extended warranty of 3yrs for $60 or 5 yrs for $78. The specs are a bit light on, but it does have an eco run mode and high power mode, 45w is mentioned 'but I'm not sure what that relates to, average over 24hrs or max power, it does have a 3 position battery cut off..... sound like a salesman eh

There are so many brands, types, sizes, costs on eBay very hard to make a decision on what to purchase some are less than half the price of brand names, one could almost buy 3 for the price of one.

Probably most would be a throw away when they packed it in but Shirley makes a good point about buying 3 for 1. Bought an 80 lt. double fridge/freezer combination on ebay and had a warranty claim with a faulty switch. The ebay dealer suggested taking it to a local fridge repairer. Repairer wouldn't even look at it and said they were throw a ways as they couldn't get the parts.
