Post by Kit Kat »

HE’S worked as a barramundi fishing and mud crab guide, he’s done his share of flipping greasy burgers in roadhouses and then there was the job that required him to swim 300 metres out to sea every day.

Steve Trembath was the ultimate nomad for almost a decade, on the road with his wife Tania and their twins, living in caravan parks across the country building a resume of weird and wonderful work.

But Corowa has kept him still.

For almost two years, Mr and Mrs Trembath have run Bindaree Motel and Caravan Park on the Murray River.

The rain drives river levels that, in turn, drive business, but last month’s tornado has highlighted a misconception parts of the North East labour under when a disaster strikes.

Corowa Shire Mayor Fred Longmire said he listened to the radio detailing minor flood levels in the North East.
