With all the discussions about getting pulled over at weigh stations I sort of twisted the dragons tail after leaving Townsville.
It is my habit to pull over where possible (on black stuff only) to clear the traffic behind me.
I have been teaching my BiL and through the CB co-ordinating these pull overs.
In QLD there are numerous truck/car pull overs with signs saying the Police and Roads people have priority for checking stations other wise feel free to pull off the road.
So I saw the sign, alerted BiL and indicated and started to pull over, the bay was occupied with a weigh station but it was too late, the traffic was to congested to pull out again so in I go.
The two officer just laughed and got out a thermos to offer us a cup as if they were a "drive and revive" station and waved us on.
FFFFFAAAAAARRRRRKKK
I've measure and packed am sure I'm legal but don't want to be tested.
The fun of travelling.
PS the Sattv system did not work in Mackay, did so in Townsville, not in Cairns (surrounded by bloody trees)
A screw has fallen out of the TV antenna, fixed with velcro for now and its also wet and cloudy in Cairns.
What the heck its better than being at work.

Re: Twisting the Dragons tail
haha....... good one Russell but maybe next time offer them a coffee first!!!
I carry a little bottle of Loctite to dose up any screws I notice working loose. Russell the satellite & trees won't shift so if you can move a weeny bit to get reception it should keep working for you.
It's a fairly narrow beam so even a gap through the leaves should work OK.

I weighed mine recently Russell - packed with most of the stuff we carry other than fresh food, fridge. Almost full of fuel. Half full of fresh water. No driver or passenger. Came out about about 4.7 tonne. If you're worried as you approach the weighbridge, either she gets out, you let the water out, or both. Good Luck

Did you have to select a different Zone/dangle angle to get TV up there?

Something is wrong. I changed to zone 1 but didn't work. Back to zone 2 in Townsville and it worked.SteveW wrote:Did you have to select a different Zone/dangle angle to get TV up there?
Don't work in Cairns. But I reckon it should have. SATPLUS reckon it might be the LNB but no way to check it.
Russell
Got 13.1 l/100 from Townsville to Cairns pleased with that.
