Putin’s Speech on Feb. 04, 2013
Fat chance, but this is one time our elected leaders should pay attention to the advice of Vladimir Putin....how scary is that?
On February 4th, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia:
"In Russia live Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that's the state law. Russia does not need minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell 'discrimination'. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honourable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians.
The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a standing ovation for five minutes.

Re: Putin's Speech
I was trying to build an image of our parliamentarians being able to stand for 5 mins, to actually applaud anything said just wouldn't gel in the image I'm afraid.
As far as minority groups, I don’t think Aussies single any of them out for special treatment, they can’t stand a bar of any of them equally, even from another state for that matter.
If a particular group pulls a suicide bombing over here I’ll be headed straight for the bathroom to shave the beard off, just to be sure I don’t get mistakenly identified with that particular group. The Cronulla riots will look like a beach party in comparison to what would happen in the streets around here at least.

A person may fail many times, they only become a failure when they blame someone else John Burrows

Our polies haven't got the balls to stand up and say what 99% of Australians really do think. From time to time they make a faint whisper but that's it just the hint of a whisper. I would vote for Putin is he stood over here. The Dutch government are moving in the same direction. Perhaps there is hope yet, well one of these days.

Just make sure you take the towel off yer head before emerging.T1 Terry wrote: I’ll be headed straight for the bathroom to shave the beard off, .

From what I understand, they are already there having curtailed further intake of migrants based solely on the above problem!Kelvin12 wrote: The Dutch government are moving in the same direction.
dawg (when in Rome... or just go back to where you came from because this is Australia, not Auslamabad.

EDITED: by T1 Terry, we shouldn't be judgemental of where the situation came from, judging by some of the photos circulating on the net some of them appear to be quite well off compared to others. The real question remains, just how much do you believe of the stuff circulated in these emails, I'm guessing many have seen the one that was a speech supposed to have been made by Julia in fed parliament

From what I have been led to believe, a lot of our problems here come, not from the immigrants, but largely from the Australian born, that have been converted, those that want to have their cake and eat it to take all the Christian holidays and then take the others as well, take three hours a day off for prayer and still demand to be payed for that as well!EDITED: by T1 Terry, we shouldn't be judgemental of where the situation came from, judging by some of the photos circulating on the net some of them appear to be quite well off compared to others. Most of them have never seen the other side of the coin, and after all the Islamic press cannot freely comment on the oppression, bigotry or discrimination in Islamic countries, even if they were allowed to, as to them that is normal.

Guess I'll just have to discount the report of the bearded guy who refused to stand before a female judge. Maybe he was confused, thinking Aussie rules did not apply to him, or that females don't deserve his respect, or maybe both. In any event, maybe it didn't even happen even though the press showed photos of him trying to conceal himself with his bath robe, escorted through the media scrum by his legal council - but then, maybe they were just out for a latte.

And for that fellow who smashed a police car windscreen during the Sydney riot sparked by a rumour of a book published in the states purporting their dead leader was not all that he was supposed to be - well I guess the footage showing him doing exactly that could have been photo shopped and as Terry said, he is dinky di being born here and all, plus he said he was sorry

Just goes to show that you can only believe none of what you hear and even less of what you see - cause it's all a media beat up.

dawg (This is not the Australia that I first experienced back in 1969!)

Re: Putin's Speech
I had the biggest laugh of all today.
Firstly I must admit I had began to listen to Mr Palmer a bit more & more.
Today I received his promo for his candidate in our electorate....
That fixed me!!! OK, it shouldn't have but it's what happened!
