Big worldwide trip "bon voyage!)

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Big worldwide trip "bon voyage!)

Post by BruceS »

In a day or two Brad & Maree are jetting off for a holiday.
I'll let him/them give details if he wants to but may I be one of the first to wish them both a very safe and enjoyable trip.
I heard it may be for a couple of months?
Enjoy your trip folks & please stay safe!! Can't wait to hear about your experiences!!!

Wishing you both a great trip from us two too. The itinerary looks non stop and all by tourist ship, looking forward to the photos and hearing your stories about the places you have been.

Wow! I didn't even know this was here. Thanks everybody for the cheer.
I have a feeling I'll need it because I'm so out of shape I get tired just looking at the itinerary!
For those interested, here is our itinerary so you can see what I mean:

We fly out on the 22nd for a few days seeing Ireland and London, then pick up the ship on the 29th for the European leg of the Holy Land tour. Actually four tours stitched together and Maree got a good rate on the Holland-America line (ms Rotterdam). In fact, I suspect that the ancillaries will end up costing more than the actual boat ride.

What a wonderful looking itinerary. You will have a marvellous time. We did a short Mediterranean cruise in 2005 from Venice to Istanbul and return and visited a few of the places on your route. Have fun!!
Cheers

Funny you mention that. Son emailed and put us on to a local mob that have agreement with ISP's in 40 counties. So their sim card goes in my phone at departure (to be used as a modem and gps) and the hook up is automatic if there is sufficient signal strength. This is where I'm skeptical - we'll see.

Always.

There are no such things, although I admit, I haven't travelled China, but I'll bet there aren't too many I can't lock into.

As requested, I'm going to try to keep a travelogue here following up from the London post on the "Where are you" thread.

We boarded the ship at Harwich England and had a whole day at sea. I was glad for that because it was good for me and my feet. Then we landed at A Coruna Spain (I think the A is long as in Ahh) October first at 09:00. After breaky, we self toured the old section of town. When our feet gave out, we hopped on a city bus for 1.27 Euro each to the other end of town. Saw a first century light house with an inscription in Latin from the time the Romans occupied the town.

Caught the city bus back and went all around the whole town – the long way! I had the bright idea of sight seeing and to be fair, we did see how the other half lives in regular times.

They keep the historic part of town super clean and tidy and the hustle and bustle is reasonably neat too.

We sail at 18:00 just at the time we are supposed to dine with Shaun Connery (real name Shane) and his wife Carol. They are from the Sunshine Coast and he is the spitting image of the Scottish actor. We seem to feed off each other in larikinismness (joking around).

The food is really good at dinner time and so far not bad for buffet.

All this is coming from the international globalgig data roaming card in my phone, which I'm using as a modem. :>)
