The dump point at Tailem Bend is on the entry to the town from the South side and is on the left between the highway and the River.
It is on the extreme outside edge of the town not far from the Meningie exit.

It is a divided road so coming from the Adelelaide way you will need to find a crossover access to do a U-turn maybe.

Re: Tailem Bend
Thanks Bruce. It looks like you'd have to have long hoses to reach it.

Re: Tailem Bend
The photo is a bit deceiving Craig.
If the outlet was on that side of the MH you'd probably only need 6-8 foot hose. (Parked close to the bollards) Both Meningie & Tailem Bend are identical. (Same council)

No I was on a mission and although I've been past Tailem Town many times I must admit I've never called in. Must do it one day!

Hi BruceS
To anyone going that way, it is worth the visit but it is a minimum of 4 hours. When you pay your entry fee, you get a free cuppa.
Karen,Ron and the Girls.
Just coasting along.

Re: Tailem Bend
That dump point looks like it's in a jail and also looks like a grave.
Old Tailem town also lets you camp out the front if you go into the "town" It is well worth the time to go in there you will be amazed at how old that place makes you feel because you keep saying "We had one of those when I was a kid"
and the picture theatre is a real hoot.

Re: Tailem Bend
I spent nearly a day there on my travels earlier.
Was interested in the old engines etc that they were working on. Actually spent quite a while watching them trying to start one. It was an old engine that needed the carby heated with a special fire and then spin the fly wheel. It ws not playing the game LOL.
Also the collection of fencing wire and the strainers and tools used was also interesting after doing fencing after retiring from work.
I stayed out where the two roads meet as there is quite a large area between the road and the river bank.
Regards
Brian
