Hi Chuck,
Looking at the fire map it looks like the fire was just "over the creek" from your house?
Do you have someone on the scene watching things for you?
Mate you must have had your heart in your mouth?
For anyone interested, Chuck lives in Rickard Rd, Warrimoo, NSW. Not far from the school & sports ovals. (satellite maps?)

I have been trying to contact a childhood friend who lives in the bush at Winmalee without success. During the fires of a few weeks ago they were surrounded by fire but the house was undamaged so hopefully those earlier fires may have been their saving grace this time.

chuckie has his daughter at their place and has told her in no uncertain terms to get out and not bother with anything so I reckon she would do just that if needed..
