Water - on the level

Post by tomcarm »

When the van is reasonably level, the water pump delivers a quality stream of water in the shower.
She who must always be clean and dignified has noted that when we leave the van hitched overnight, with the front end of the van slightly down, there is poor go 'bugga all' water pressure.
In fact, despite over 60% of water left in the tanks, the shower hardly delivered at all.

Two questions ...
Does the above make sense?
If so, any suggestions???

ps. My offer to give an assisting 'suds up' was roundly rejected!!

I'm guessing the water is piped common between al the tanks, when sloped forward all the water from the rear tank would be transferred to the other tanks leaving the rear tank at a much lower level. When the pump draws water it will draw it from the point of least resistance, the tank with very little water, now it will suck air and the water delivery will be minimal. The fix, a tap from each tank on the supply side but a common fill point for all tanks, when one tank is drained, close that tap and open the next. probably easiest using pneumatic valves controlled electrically, you have on board air for the self levelling so it would not be that difficult to set up.

I'd tell her it's time for another shower. May have been an aberration - the loss of water pressure, that is.

Breather outlet on the tank going underwater or maybe some thing in the tank rolling forward and blocking the outlet
