Kangaroo Valley day trip

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Agree, although it did make me feel cold, we spent many a weekend down there in the early sixties when we were courting, I still have a koala teapot cosy made out of I guess kangaroo skin that Bruce bought for me at the kiosk at Kangaroo Falls, lovely scenic area.

You are almost in our back yard Kay ad Bruce, Berry is only 30 mins down the road from here. Do you plan to do the tree top walk, Jamberoo, the Kiama blow hole, the Sea Cliff Bridge and the other attractions in the area. There is a historic aircraft restoration museum at Albion Park Rail and you can camp out at Albion Park showground, only a short run from Jamberoo and you can camp out at the show ground there as well. There are a few local spots you can free camp as well, but we sort of keep those quite if you know what I mean
If I'd know you were going to Kangaroo Valley I could have directed you to a spot very few see, a spot where the early indigenous locals gathered before the hunt through the valley, the hollows in the creek rock from spear sharpening are still clearly identifiable, from a time a well before Europeans came here. The photos and views from there are quite spectacular.
Sorry about the weather, if I'd known you were visiting god's country we might have organised better weather for you

Terry because there was no comment from you I assumed that you & Marg were away so I did not bother with a PM. Could not find your phone # from last Christmas at Brisbane. Sure not driving back down the range as we have really had enough of the beautiful ranges! Sure wish that the tourism/councils, when they advertise sites to see, eg Cathedral rocks that they would indicate if not advised for vans. We went there yesterday, up & down those bloody hills, to get to the dead end with a council truck plus 2 vehicles parked in the turn around. With the last one still there after we ate & no sign of the owner we were talking about reversing to the bottom of the hill where there was MAYBE room to turn. Took the Cathedral Rock photo & by that time the guy was just leaving. This is the 2nd time those hills caused us problems- back in Gerroa no parking at the Kingsford Smith memorial for vans. Hi Marg. Hope you both well. I thought you were heading west actually.
1982 we were last through here but it certainly is beautiful country- apart from the freaking cold.
Heading north of Sydney to CF friends to-morrow.

Not me Glenda- I am a very shy person so would make a total B---up of that sort of job.  Thanks you anyway. That area of NSW is certainly beautiful country apart from all the beach side towns being in the "Hills". We had started off by going into all the seaside places from the highway up the coast but soon realised that basically the same unless there was something specific to have a look at.

You should have turned off the highway at Pambula and followed the coastline via Tathra and rejoined the Hwy at Tilba Tilba. That way avoids a great deal of ups and downs.

Ah but George unless someone tells you these things not always possible. GOT caught out going to see the Charles Kingsford Smith memorial at Gerroa- no where to park with van so had to find way back to main road up & down high streets then again at the Cathedral Rocks at Kiama Downs- dead end with a turn around but a vehicle parked & no driver visible. Information about these spots should warn tourists that maybe not suitable for vans.
