How is This For Style

Post by nut17 »

This is a brand new "Retro" caravan manufactured in Palmerston North expressly for the purpose of promoting awareness and education with regard to Breast Cancer. It is being towed the length of New Zealand, stopping off at small towns for a day or two each and staffed by enthusiastic health professionals. Towing duties are being provided by members of NZMCA and I have the honour of looking after the van for the next eight days and approximately 900Km.

Here we are on the banks of Lake Taupo this afternoon prior to towing down to Hastings where I gave it a quick wash ready for it's first outing under my care in the morning.

It is a dream to tow. The aerodynamic shape must have an influence as I had to keep looking in the mirrors to make sure it was still there.

There are four 25kg sand bags that are carried to help with keeping the awning from blowing away and these travel on the floor up front to help put a little more weight on the ball.

This pic shows it all set up this morning.
