Not got one but something else!
Bruce got new glasses about a month ago with a referral to an Eye Specialist- possible Maccular. Ok saw specialist on Tuesday - no macular but booked for a cataract before 21st Jan- when ever they can squeeze him in. Has to see Cataract specialist to-morrow on way up to RV. Fortunately there is plenty of space to park the van on the way.

Be very careful with the auto darkening lenses, a step into the shadow from the bright sun results in no vision till the lenses adjust, then the same when stepping out into the bright sun again. Bluescope steel banned them for use within the works on a safety issue after numerous incidents, some of them serious like stepping in front of vehicles they were blinded to or under suspended loads, deadly stuff, not just trip hazards.

Must have been crap ones Terry as I have had mine for years with no ill effects apart from the darkness taking a few minutes to go back to clear but I can still see everything ok, The other way is to go for 2 pr. 1 normal and the other pr prescription sunglasses.

Bruce has had the darkening glasses for several years too & had no problem with them, he also really likes the graduated lenses, he use to wear bi-focals.

Re: Not got one but something else!
The transition glasses have improved dramatically in the past few years. The earlier ones as T1 mentioned were shite.

Re: Not got one but something else!
Shirley, I recently bought 2 pair of graduating lenses and sun changing glasses, from specsavers at Morisett. I think I paid less than $600 for both pairs. They might not be the most exciting specs around, but the glasses are doing the job perfectly and I think they look pretty good (just not show stoppers).

Anyone of pension age should check this out.

I got a quote for new graduated specs with transition lenses from my usual place $635 and then had a quote for exactly the same through this scheme only $165. A big difference.
