Next door neighbor is having some renovations done to their place - cement cladding after having the previous paint job ground off!
It's not the neighbor themselves that is the problem but the bloke who is doing the job...been going on now since around the 17th Dec. Neighbor did initially apologise for the loud radio, stating that the bloke did excellent work albeit that he has a bit of a problem with yelling out & talking loudly to himself.
He works by himself. I wonder why.
The job was supposed to have been finished on the 22nd... obviously he was a bit slower than promised, perhaps too many involved conversations & arguments with himself!
Had a nice quiet period from 24 - 28, then... there he was, back again at 0730 with that mongrel bloody radio blaring out again.
Have to have all the windows & doors closed whilst he's working... fortunately the weather has been warm enough to put the AC on!
Have a large bolt cutter but unfortunately it's about 8m too short to reach the power cord of that bloody tradies radio!!

Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.

A guy at work has a really cool set of Blue Tooth ear buds. Maybe some newer technology is needed?

Re: Bloody loud radio...
I remember as a young lad we had a share house that over looked the nth beach in Wollongong. Naturally the first purchase was a shit hot stereo with very powerful speakers, gone were the days of a marble in a tin can noise, this was serious stuff. Occasionally the neighbours would ask for the sound to be turned down a bit, we quickly realised it was not the noise level as such, but the choice of music that annoyed, so rather than turn it down, we just selected a different record and all was well with the world again.
There had to be a moral to such a long story eh
try offering your choice of CD or memory stick music in place of the noise he has chosen, either you will enjoy the music or he will realise just how annoying loud music that is not his taste can be........

Re: Bloody loud radio...
The problem is not so much his choice of music/radio - 2WS music is generally fine with us - but the sheer volume of it.
The neighbours did advise us that this bloke is a bit 'sensitive' & by that I take it he is a bit delicate upstairs... his vocularisations (I might just have made that word up?) would tend to back that theory up. They say he does really excellent work with his cement & trowels.
Maybe he thinks the loud music covers up his vocal ramblings. It doesn't.
The neighbours may head out for the time frame that he's working on their place. Smart move.
As we get on extremely well with our neighbours I have no desire to really urinate them off by shirtfronting (thanks PM) this bloke to the point that he packs up his gear & leaves them in the lurch with the job not completed.
We'll grin & bear it - our extra good deed for the ending year.
