Subaru or VW?

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

The Trikers are having a get together at Victor Harbor from last Wednesday to tomorrow. We saw about 50 of them on the road Tuesday and Wednesday.

That would explain the dozen-or-so trikes we encountered en route from Renmark along the Murray Valley Hwy...

Still no one with the make of engine?
The owners of the bikes were watching me so I wasn't going to get any closer to look for a radiator or water hoses.
Subaru? VW have a BIG fan on the rear from memory?
Bernie is it an engine out of an ultra light plane?

VW, I'm guessing 1600 base but strangely single port heads. The high flow oil pump and oil filter adapter are certainly non standard, nor is the alternator in place of he original generator and a smaller than stock crankshaft pulley that would result in a slower fan speed. The fan shroud is very early VW as it has no heater air output ducts and no bulge to fit the large oil cooler. This sort of points to it being a 1300 engine as the 1600 needed all the air cooling and oil cooling it could get.
Speaking of VWs, Kombi with its 1800 engine and dual fuel LPG/Petrol and over 700,000km on the clock went like a rocket both over to Mannum and back home. Left Mannum at 11:00am Sunday morning and arrived home 2:30am this morning. Drank so much coffee, include what I'd class as the worst coffee I have ever had for a shop in Tooleybuc, I doubt if I'll sleep much until later today

Some aircraft use both Bruce the "Sub" with reduction gear box and with the "Dubs" they cut in half and are only 2 cylinder .

Glad to see you had such a good trip home T1 & Margaret.
Where do you turn off the Hume H'way?
We'll be heading back to Kingston later on in the week to check out the lawns and garden. Might be time to activate the pop up sprinkler system for the summer months.
OK, thanks Bernie!

On the Hume at the Wagga turn off and off the Hume at the Illawarra hwy to Mossvale turn off, then down Macquarie Pass, real exciting in heavy rain  Couldn't believe how heavy the rain was from Narrandera onwards, had to stay with the b doubles to the Hume so they pumped the pools of water off the road.
