Noisy Water Pump.

Post by Ros20549 »

Hi. I have a question our water pump is extremely noisy and it drives me nuts can anything be done to help dampen the noise please.

Cheers Ros.

dont hard mount it to the body/frame of the vehicle
loop each of the tubes just as they leave the pump body

is it noise transmitted through the system or pump mechanics/motor noise?
The latter you can only insulate. New models (variable speed) are quieter

Rubber mount several mm thick. Flexible hose at least 300mm long on input and output with NO elbows or sharp corners anywhere near the pump.

Ros, if none of the above works try wrapping it in high density foam. It may take some of the drumming away.
