Advice and help involving any mechanical issues.

E V Battery from toytoa camery

Hi All ,
A friend came around a few days back with a battery from a Toyota camery hybrid . I thought it would have been lithium but it was NM Hid each cell was 7.5 volts dc and all up = 240 odd volts.. Funny little packs, What got me was NO 240 charging plug.. Had a look see on Utube and it seems easy as to work on .. On hebay cells S H $55 + p/p 20$.. Don't know what AMPH they would be.. They suffer buzz bar corrosion by the looks, so the little tube off black would be helpful to fix that..
Don't think I would go for one...

Very few of the earlier hybrids had plug in capability, this has changed in the latest models along with a better chemistry battery pack. There are a number of plug-in upgrades available for the Prius so I'd imagine there are some for the Camry. The Prius kits increases the electric only range to over 100km and to 100km/h before the engine cuts in making it an electric vehicle with an ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) back up. Unfortunately most of the kits are a one way charging set up for the extended range pack, plug in only, the original pack still retains the regen charging though.
