Pet Safety Warning...

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Pet Safety Warning...

Post by Greynomad »

Attention: pet owners!
Specifically, those of you with pet mice.
Please note that mice are very poor swimmers! Please keep them away from water!

T'other day I accidentally trapped one by the right forepaw, in a mousetrap designed for feral mice.
He looked a little hot and distressed. (Outside temp was 40deg)
So I took him outside and let him cool off in the dogs' water bucket, which we keep in the shade.
I (unwisely) focussed my attention elsewhere for 5 minutes, and when I returned to see how he was enjoying the cool water, I found he had attempted to duck-dive to the bottom of the bucket and ingested a surfeit of water.

As he was too small for me to perform mouth-to-mouth or CPR, I unfortunately had to bury the poor sod in the council green bin.

Please take this as a warning!
Regards & God bless,
Ray
