Rupanyup and the Silo Art Trail plus more

Post by Swisslulu »

We visited the Silo Art Trail in Vic last year on our way north from Tassie. Sadly we had to miss the Stick Shed in Murtoa as it was only open one Sunday per month.

This year we knew the opening hours had been extended and we were determined to see it.

We camped at the Rupanyup Memorial Park which is walking distance to the painted silos which we saw last year. Power, water, amenities and a dump point for $10 per night with a 7 day max. What’s not to love?

A 15 minute drive to Murtoa to take a tour (currently only offered on Sundays though it is open Tues to Sunday). Absolutely fabulous. Great tour guide. So much history. Heritage listed and the only one remaining in the world. $9 pp for seniors. I always remember Alan41 who lived here and was active on many forums but sadly passed away a few years ago.

Not to be missed if you are in the area.Image
