Wanted ,ball saver Torque Multiplier

Post by Vik351 »

Any of you folk know of one for sale...???

https://www.google.com/search?q=actizym ... bsm_WJafvM:

I took off the SS flash wheel dishes off the back wheels on the Espie cos I could see a problem down the track with the SS cutting into the braided valve extensions.

The back came off ok, didnt need to touch the truck nuts, just my nuts from the kit...

BUT the front ones are put on with two truck nuts with the fake nut in the guts of the two...

Ya reckon I could even get a creak or squeek , not 1/2 a mm... wasnt sure if that side ,passenger was a LHT or RHT, tried both ways anyway(must look that up...???)

So if eva I got to go anywhere apart from Mannum and gota da punch, I would be stuffed...!!!

1/2 you blokes were truckies, any clues as where to get one in Adelaide, or get one off evil bay...???

A secondhandie would do me thinks, wasnt plannin on really usin it ...!!!

vik...all ears...!!!

Peter,

Don't sell it. Just because you can't change it; doesn't mean that someone else who stops to help might not need it.

That was a tip from Terry years ago..... Always carry some spares; you may not know how to do it; but the person stopping might.

Vik,it has 17,19,21, and 23 mm sockets,it uses a standard 1/2 drive shaft so you can fit any socket you need. The 21 mm socket fits the Fiat..Peter.

I bin told Iveco is all rt hand thread Vik.
Most LH thread studs usually have an "L" stamped in the centre of the stud. (outer threaded end)
My old Dodge 575 had lefties on one side.
I still have my 3/4" socket, extension & 'T' bar that I used to slide my dog lever tool over to stand on!!
Remember them Bernie? Let em slip outta your hand & they went 40ft up in the air!!! (or whack you under the chin!)

Thanks Bruce... :)

Made me wonder...??? had a Ford Transit van late 70's job, got a flat went to fix it , gee this is tight WTF left hand thread passenger side.

Cant remember if the nuts were marked, prolly were...

The crap Iveco 27 mm socket just falls off the nut, loose as buggery, couldnt do the stand on the long pipe trick if ya wanted to without makin a stand of some sort for the free end :x :x :x

I think you will find you need one of these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-64-Torque ... fresh=true or one of these if you have tight nuts (so to speak) https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-110-Ratio ... 0005.m1851
Just be sure it also has the square socket to suit the inner nut/stud that holds the inside wheels on the rear if you have that type or set up.
The 1:110 ratio unit will undo anything, but a lot of turns on the handle before the nut is loose enough to swap over to the extension bar directly on the socket. I have even used our 1:110 ratio 1"drive unit to remove bus wheel nuts that the tyre mob couldn't get loose with their rattle gun.

I've replaced them with the long version, see if that works better.
