Talking about the weather...

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Talking about the weather...

Post by Greynomad »

Ummm...
Don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but on the ABC-TV’s national weather forecasts, Wodonga’s forecast maximum is consistently one degree warmer than Albury’s.
As we’re further down from the Equator, it can’t be that we get more sunlight. 🌞
World-shattering, ain’t it?
Regards & God bless,
Ray

It’s getting colder up here, have needed to replace a single sheet on the bed with a doona for the first time in almost 18 months! Must be the altitude (around 450 m). We both woke in the night feeling cold 🥶 & expected to see a coating of frost outside at dawn. Turns out all the northern warmth & an average night time temperature in the mid 20’s must have softened us up more than we thought. Phone app told us the overnight low was 18 degrees C. I see that down in Ballarat the over night low was 11 deg. C. How did we ever cope?!!

Cuppa, the first winter that we lived in Cairns, we swam, never wore a jacket & enjoyed the warm climate, local folk at the Cairns show wore overcoats at night, second year we did feel the cooler weather, as you say it is climatization to where you live & you are up on the Tablelands.

Yes.
In Cairns in mid July we could tell the locals. Thirty degrees and they were wearing cardies.
Darwin, 12 months later, we had the Olympic size pool to ourselves. Caretaker chappie explained 32 degrees was too cold for locals to get wet. 😳😁

Left Mannum at 0815 drove to Barmera Medical procedure at 1145, on the road at 1215 rained all the way to Euston camped there the night.
off next morning at 0745, drove to Wagga then headed for the Hume It poured rain all the way to the Hume. Drove to Gunning, both free camps closed pushed on to an O'night camp {something VC} left there this morning and arrived Maitland at 1330. No one told the servo's that fuel had dropped in price. Also hard to get something to eat. But all OK, will stay here for a week or so for a few minor repairs, then off to Port Mac.
Sorry we could not have our usual get together at the club, but next time.
