Bought a chrome cast yesterday for the projector entertainment area. Son was here and all working ok.
Decided I will put one in the van for traveling when Telstra available but need to know can I just plug the usb power lead into any usb adaptor connected to my 12v system. Cheers Robert

Re: Chrome Cast
If I knew what a "chrome cast" was I might know the answer to your Q?

Re: Chrome Cast
A device which you plug into your tv and it allows you to cast programs from your tablet or phone to your tv, as long as you have a WIFI connection.
As long as you have the apps on your device Netflix, Stan Disney Free to Air channel, KAYO.
Just learning myself Dot our son set one up on our projector system in the lounge for us yesterday so was thinking of using it or another on in the van.
How are you going now, on the mend I hope cheers Robert

Re: Chrome Cast
No worries connecting to any 5V power supply, does your TV have a USB port, if so use that one.
Chromecast is a small thingi that you attach to the TV and is powered by a USB powere supply, it's using the house WiFi to broadcast from your computer to the TV
I used to use one when away via a WiFi dongle from Telstra.
That way I could watch any internet program on the van TV

Re: Chrome Cast
Robert, our Chrome Cast in the Motorhome is plugged into one of the USB ports on the side of the TV.
I have all the free to air TV apps on my iPad (10Play, 7Plus, 9Now, ABCiView, SBS on Demand etc). Don’t have any paid subscriptions like Netflix but also carry our Foxtel box which means we don’t need to cast for those programs.

Re: Chrome Cast
Robert, the Chrome Cast and the tablet need to be on the same WiFi to start.
Put your TV channel selector on the input you have plugged the Chrome Cast into - HDMI 1 or 2 etc. In the app, select the program you want to watch. In the top right hand corner, next to the search symbol, is the cast symbol. Click on that and the program will appear on the TV.
See the photo below - Cast is the rectangular box with the waves in the left hand corner of it, next to the search symbol.

Just ask if that doesn’t make sense.

Re: Chrome Cast
Personal hotspot is what we use. We have a Sphere WiFi router in the MH but you could use your phone or any WiFi router. At home, we use our normal WiFi router - we have a different Chrome Cast in the house.
