Lake Maraboon Qld

Post by Swisslulu »

It’s unusual for us to stay in CPs, except for this trip, but I just have to plug this one.

Located about 27kms south of Emerald on the road to Springsure (where my mother was born), it’s never been on our radar before as we don’t fish but it was somewhere to stay prior to getting into Sandstone Park, just outside of Carnarvon Gorge.

Originally Sandstone was booked out when I enquired but they rang me with a cancellation, only from the 16th for 3 nights, so we grabbed it. But then we had to waste time between Emerald and there so we decided to stay here at Lake Maraboon for a week.

All the sites with views of the lake were booked but we got a really spacious site out the back with almost no neighbours.

They have a booze bus driving around dispensing on tap Red Claw beer (I don’t think red claw are used in the brewing process though). $5 per schooner and apparently it’s a good drop. They also have a kitchen preparing meals and deliver to your site. Awaiting our dinner delivery as I Type.

Apologies to those stuck at home but we are doing our bit for the Qld economy.
Cheers
