A man was bored at work, home life was becoming hum-drum, and he seemed to be on an endless treadmill, going nowhere.
To cheer himself up, he went shopping.
Nothing in Bunnings excited him, K-Mart was a desert, even the car yards were boring. He tried on a new suit, but it looked just like his old one, boring.
Then he noticed the shoe shop next door. In the window he spotted a flashy pair he just knew was what he needed.
He was lucky, they had a pair in his size, so he bought them, and decided to wear them home.
He threw open the front door and strode boldly into the kitchen, lifting his trouser legs to expose his new purchase.
His wife didn't even look up.
"Honey, notice anything different?" he asked.
She responded, "You drunk again?"
"No," he replied, "there's something different about me." he persisted, lifting his trouser cuffs higher.
She returned to her cooking without responding.
He clomped loudly around the room, to no avail. Wife was not interested.
Frustrated, he went to the bedroom, stripped naked — except for the new shoes — and called out "Honey, I'm in the bedroom, can you come here?"
Wife flounced into the bedroom, put her hands on her hips and growled, "Waddya want now!"
"Notice anything" he asked.
"You're naked. I'm not playing that game. I'm busy." she snarled.
"Look where my old fella's pointing. New shoes!" he exclaimed.
She turned on her heels, and as she left, she called over her shoulder,
"Shoulda bought a new hat!"
