Start at $10,000 and work back from there? I don't do quotes Wayne, email Margaret and she will need lots more info about space for batteries and customer requirements and then she can do an estimate from there

Terry found out more about Janet bus it has a 20amp projecta solar controller an a fifty amp solar panel 100 full river’s battery
For the up grade if we put 2 x two hundred watts panel and 2x one hundred agm battery and a victron battery monitor do you think that would be good system

You can't have a system I'd call good if you are using AGM batteries  You will need more solar if you choose to go with AGM batteries because they take a lot longer to recharge compared to lithium. If the AGM batteries are discharged to 50% SOC (12) you will have use 100 Ah out of the batteries so you will need to put 125 Ah back in to get the batteries back to 100% SOC. The first 20% you can put in fairly quickly, 25 amps, with 200w of solar that will take at least 3 hrs of peak sun and there is only 5 hrs of peak sun mid summer, 2.5hr mid winter, even less the further south you go.
If you don't fully recharge AGM batteries each time you use them, they sulphate and start to loose capacity and the ability to accept a charge without the terminal voltage rising faster than what really represents the actual state of charge .... so recharging becomes even slower, the down hill death spiral and a new set of batteries is required well before their actual cycle life is reached.

One tv working and one laptop need charging
Wayne, if he just wants to have a working TV and laptop that needs charging.

Just put more solar on the roof. $300. Tell him that he'll need to replace the battery every once in a while - $200.

Or spend thousands on a ewe beut system
