Trickle charge

Post by Mrcoolabah1au »

If I want to keep the start battery top up all the time is a good idea to put a battery charger on trickle charge if so what charger do you recommend 🤔

You need a smart charger like a CTekor Enerdrive that will bring the battery up to fully charged, drop back to a maintenance charge and return to a boost charge ever .... I think its 21 days but that would need verification.
Does you lithium battery remain connected with the solar recharging it each day? You could make a link between the lithium battery and the start battery using 6mm auto cable. The small cable will ensure there is a lot of current flow but it will continue to trickle charge the start battery 24/7, but it would need the solar to top up the lithium battery each few days so the start battery doesn't drain it.

I use a C - Tek 5 amp charger, it does the job very well when I need it. Don't to use it often but was handy to put the motorhome truck battery on charge a few times last year during the lock downs.
