Saw this on another forum, if the 300km range is to be believed, it could be a contender for a small camper conversion https://www.drive.com.au/news/2021-byd- ... rive-away/

An electric camper base?
A person may fail many times, they only become a failure when they blame someone else John Burrows

Nah, lots of solar panels that fold out into an array that provides an all round awning ..... and not be in a hurry
The old saying of "slow down and smell the roses" will morph into, "now ya slowed down waiting for the sunshine, might as well smell the roses while ya here and spend all that money ya saved on fuel by doing something you want"
House battery power solved, run what ever you want, no issues with finding the next fuel station, if it doesn't appear tomorrow it will in the next few days, so sit back and enjoy the freedom ....... I should go into selling these things eh

I can see by your theory Terry that in the future cars will run fast when the sun shines and slow to a crawl on cloudy days. The lanes on roadways will need to be widened to cater for the vehicles with large solar arrays hanging over the roof line. There will be more roadside stopping/rest areas only because cars will have flat batteries and need to recharge off their huge solar array of panels, like the motorhome in the previous pic.

If 100km/h is slow in your terms, then you might be correct. The range of the EV van in the article is quoted as 300kms, that's on battery power not solar power ..... much like driving the internal combustion engine vehicle, you can drive further than the length of the fuel hose on the bowser2foot6 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 2:05 pm I can see by your theory Terry that in the future cars will run fast when the sun shines and slow to a crawl on cloudy days. The lanes on roadways will need to be widened to cater for the vehicles with large solar arrays hanging over the roof line. The array on the Hino would take 20 hrs of sun to fully charge a completely drained 40kWh battery , but that old adage comes to mind that was often quoted on the old CMCA forum "Plan to drive 50km a day, you can average that out with a long drive followed by a longer stop". That would require the battery to power the vehicle for 200km, followed by 4 days free camp allowing for 5 peak sun hrs a day. The Blade with your generator plugged in has a 20kWh battery, so two days full sun on the Hino would recharge that ......

Haven't even been able to get the rego into my name so I can put in an insurance claim to repair the sill-rails .... so absolutely zero work has been done regarding fixing the crazy one peadl drive system Blade thought would be a good idea
