That does look tough, I wonder what they are using as a power plant to need to increase the track that far and use tyres that wide ..... The poor old type 1 body in all it's different forms, single cab, twin cab, panelvan, camper and microbus, had a tendency to hang the tail out if you were over aggressive on the corners .... and once the tail started to slide it was over-taking the front end real quick
They go ok in a straight line though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhMYlNxbxeg

Yeah, a big industry with big $$ to be made for anyone who knows just watt they are doing ;) Who ever wrecked that Datsun 1200 ute should be put against the wall and dealt with .... there are some pitiful conversions out there that's for sure. It's basically that "Wheeler Dealer" philosophy, it has to be as good or better than it was new in body condition and appearance.

T1,
I note in the ABC story that the Cortina has the number plate OBE-001.
I wonder if the owner calls it “Kanobe”?
:D :D :D

What's the bit on the front for, removing the white lines off the road? Love those wheels, I just can't imaging trying to park the thing in a shopping centre, you'd never turn the steering. Even with 215 R14 tyres on the front of Kombi required a 15 point turn and very strong arms to get it into a parking spot.
