Re: Wow
Not sure about the first one, could be a fibreglass mould job, but the second one looks like a rather poor photo shop job .... the rear boggies don't even look to be on the rails ......

Re: Wow
Just saw this on Fbk. Thought I may as well post it here.
At least it would be practical.

Re: Wow
First pic is definitely a fibreglass reproduction… and not a very accurate one:
- Kombis didn’t have square corners on the windows
- The windscreen is too tall
- No ‘brow’ above windscreen (didn’t disappear until the single windscreen model)
- Top of windscreen doesn’t line up with the top of the side windows
- Handle in sliding door is in the wrong place - too far from front edge of the door
- Split-windscreen model had two hinged cargo doors for most of the model run, slider was on single windscreen model
- Three panes in “passenger door” — only ever two on v early split-windscreen models, moved to wind-ups within a couple of years
- Wipers are set for RHD — early Kombis had ‘universal’ wipers, mounted centrally on each windscreen section.
Bet it’s not running a rear-mounted flat four, either!

Re: Wow
Certainly a nice body all the same, I wonder if it was a production line job complete with molds .... and how would you find out?Greynomad wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 9:00 am First pic is definitely a fibreglass reproduction… and not a very accurate one:

Re: Wow
Excellent re-purposing of a low light bay window front section, I wonder what they did with the rest of the body .... make an excellent donor for an extended body late bay to build a Lombi .... always wanted a Lombi so I could convert it to an electric drive camper with all that extra room inside.supersparky wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 6:08 am Just saw this on Fbk.
