Terry got question for you how long you think an ibis 4 will run with 600watt of solar power and 300 ah of lifepo4 the new buyer wanted to know how many hours the air will work for 🤔🙏🚌

Wayne is the 300Ahr @ 12V or 24V?
Wouldn't run for long tho either way. The 600w isn't enough to keep up even with bright sun in middle of the day.
Starting 100% charged you might get an hour or two maybe at a guess?

Hi Wayne,
We have 400a Lithium and 390w solar.
Our rooftop air con is a Houghton Belair and non inverter.
Yours is an inverter type so much more efficient.
When starting with 100% charge, we can run for up to 3 hours off the 2000w Projecta inverter.
The main problem is not the running but the replacing of the power used.

The inverter type rooftop rattlers run full power with the doors and windows open for 1 hr per 100Ah of lithium batteries and zero solar etc .... well the ones we build do anyway. A well insulated van, closed up and 600w of solar, all day in good sun at 40*C outside and 22*C inside, but the batteries would be close to drained at the end. Add another 600w of solar and the batteries would also be full at the end of the day.

For those who try to achieve 16*C with the fan on high so they can wear a jumper or something and want a window open for some fresh air (yes, we have had those customers) you would need close to 2000w of solar to break even.
We can run the split system on the Hino full power along with a big box fan to get the cold up the front, as well as the hot water heating and power for the coffee machine with 1650w of solar and well over 40*C outside, and still be charging the battery. On one of the days coming home from Perth, it was so hot the Hino gradually overheated to the point I was seriously concerned about engine damage, but it was too hot to stop away from a servo in case we couldn't get going again. End stopped with the big radiator fans running at full speed it continued boiling, so we just turned it off and camped out under the air condition till the sun went down.
Split system inverter technology using the newer HC refrigerants use much less power though, I doubt you'd get that result with a rooftop rattler
