Weber BBQ's

Post by Kelvin12 »

G'Day all,

Recently bought a Weber family Q, BBQ. Brilliant best BBQ I have ever had. Tonight, bacon and eggs and sausages, absolutely great. Tried the pizza brilliant, ground beef and DIY supreme. Steak, best ever, something about the way these BBQ's cook. Did the marinated chook and baked vegs. Baked pork, delish... crackling something else, ate the lot, like I really need to do that. Best thing ever. No mess in the oven no smoke alarms going off and sending the little dog down to the bottom of the garden, something about the pork smoke always sets the bloody alarm of. Easiest BBQ to clean, buggered if we didn't get one earlier. This BBQ is going in the bus for sure.

HI, all.

We've the BabyQ - a truly excellent machine. The trick's to do several days' worth of lamb chops, bangers, etc, and try to make them last in the fridge. No hope.

Mrs shonky did rack of lamb the other day - proves that the patience required for slow cooking really pays off. Beautiful eating.

See you on the back roads,

Yep, couldn't agree more, we have a BabyQ for Wilbor, and when our 6 burner home BBQ dies you know what I will be getting ;) Yep, a BigQ

I buy rib on the bone, they are about 2" thick and the BabyQ cooks them to perfection, everytime

We had a really good demo from the owner of BBQ's Galore in Townsville at the Townsville camping show in 2011 and he gave us lots of tips about using a Q barbie. We bought the pizza stone but haven't used it to this day. Note to self - buy pizza base for BabyQ pizza :)

Agree with all of the above!
Our Baby Q travels everywhere with us.

Son & Heir treated himself to a Christmas Present of the Family-Sized Q, after our ravings & a test-taste on our return home.

He now raves about it as well!

Both units helped prepare Christmas Lunch last year (2013): his did the turkey, ours did the veggies.
Pork in the house oven & chicken in the convection-microwave... all systems GO! :P

Gee, my family complains I cremate a steak in it and ruin it completely. I cook it 8 minutes a side as I like it extra well done. This is a good 1" thick large rump. I think everyone else should like a steak like I do. Daughter in law says passing it under a fluro is sufficient. Hates my BBQ steaks but she is a ring in.....

You really do need to do the pre heat and not be tempted to lift the lid to see what's going on. After 8 minutes first side, lift the lid turn it over and close the lid as fast as possible so as not to loose the heat. Never had a failure to date and can't recommend them highly enough, plus the clean up is just so easy compared the old style BBQ's.

No Craig not operator error .
Dirk, 8 min a side is too long, hence my comment they don't get hot enough.
Once you lower the lid you have changed to steaming your steak. Go behind the door kitchen in a restaurant.
