Dottie, we posted a scathing review on Trip Advisor… along with a great many other people.

I wish you had asked us about Eat at Dan and Stephs. We would have warned you off. It was good for the first few years but I believe they have either sold it or farmed out the kitchen. Either way it is not what it was. Dan and Steph have a newish restaurant in HB originally called The Black Bear, now renamed The Bear, I believe, because of copyright. Canadian style food. Poutine etc.

It gets good reviews but we have never tried it as it’s not our style. Very carb heavy. A shame you had a bad experience in HB. We wouldn’t live there but there are some good restaurants that we could have directed you to.

Have a good trip back to Rutherglen. Hopefully we can catch up sometime.
Cheers

Would have been good to get advice Lesley, but we were not even aware they had a base in HB...
Joy just saw the names & remembered their MKR win. Had it not been for that, we'd have driven straight past.
As we said in our review, "trading on the MKR win"...
Joy says not only would she not return to EAT, she wouldn't eat at Bear because they don't care about their name/reputation.
If they've sold/leased it, they would be well advised to remove their names and just leave it as "EAT". It damages their reputation.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Yes, that’s very true Ray but they would have got good money by selling their reputation. A pity the new people aren’t up to their standard.

Ray,

NSW might be locked up for a while, might have to do a reverse lap.

It's getting tricky.

The only other way is to become prime minister and do what you want.

May be, just maybe,.......

Get one of those Courier stickers and put it on Girt. Buy a little present and wrap it up and deliver it to Rutherglen. Obviously, don't get a removalist sticker. That might be asking for trouble.
